Meet Dr. Michael Tomlin

Michael Tomlin is a social scientist and for over 30 years he has studied words and their impact on generations, genders, members of various professions, vocations, advocacy groups, and voter blocks. It is his foremost hobby and profession. Mike is also a teacher, trainer, consultant, and speaker, but most of all an adult educator and student of people, language, and organizations.

Mike has a strong academic background, having served as Director of George Fox University's MBA Program located in Boise, Idaho, and 13 years on the graduate faculty at the University of Idaho. He also has significant experience in business, as one of the founders of the Rocky Mountain Leadership Network. He currently is managing principal of MICHAEL TOMLIN ASSOCIATES LLC, consulting in leadership, critical thinking, and strategic communications. He has authored over 150 publications and is an award-winning journalist, who for five years wrote a weekly syndicated newspaper column. Mike currently writes a Blog for BusinessWeek.

Mike's keynote speaking and teaching engagements have taken him across the United States, to London, England, and Taiwan. He has taught at numerous leadership academies and institutes, teaching and training professionals representing America's finest organizations. Additionally he has taught graduate seminars on leadership and organizational theory on the Viking Serenade, of the Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines.

Mike holds a Doctorate from the University of Wyoming; a Master of Adult Education Degree from Oklahoma Central State University; and a Bachelor of Science Degree from Southern Nazarene University. He is a member of the National Association of Scholars, Phi Delta Kappa, American Society for Training and Development, the Institute of Applied and Behavioral Management, and numerous other organizations. He is listed in Who's Who International of professionals.

Mike lives in Boise with his wife Sue, and their Golden Retriever, Libby.
